After world war 2 most Africa countries started gaining independence from European colonialism, during that era kwame Nkrumah, haile selassie and malcolm x were propel to found a unity organisation for all Africans.
Africa day is the annual commemoration on may 25, 1963 founding of the organisation of Africa unity (OAU). On 25 may 1963 leaders of independent africa countries signed a founding charter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
OAU AIM
The purpose of this organisation was to ♦defend the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of African countries, the OAU ♦was also dedicated to the eradication of white minority rule and all forms of colonialism,
♦the OAU goal also is to coordinate cooperation of African countries in order to achieve a better life for the people of Africa, ♦to ensure that all Africans enjoyed human rights, ♦settle argument and dispute between members -making sure peace is alive in Africa. And ♦also to raise the living standards of all Africans
